Being responsible for everyone

Being responsible for everyone…

The Child Who Carried Everyone

He arrived saying something many people have told me over the years.

“I’ve already done so much work on myself. I understand my patterns. Yet I still don’t feel good enough. I still feel responsible for everyone. My body is always tense. My jaw is constantly tight. It’s as if my whole nervous system never really relaxes.”

He had spent years trying to understand himself.
And yet, something much deeper was still holding him.

During our work together, one sentence emerged:
“I let go of the past. I let go of the past I cannot change. And I move forward.”

As often happens, we first worked through kinesiology and energy balancing, releasing layers of emotional patterns stored in the body.

Then we began an inner journey.
What unfolded surprised both of us.

He found himself meeting his father, who had died when he was still a very young child.
As the eldest of the family, he had unconsciously taken on a role that no child should ever have to carry.

Without realising it, he had spent his childhood carrying his mother’s grief, protecting his younger siblings and trying, in every possible way, to hold the family together.

During this inner experience, words emerged that brought a profound sense of peace :
His father freed him from the impossible responsibility of trying to save him.
His mother, who was also present in the journey, released him from the unconscious role of carrying her pain.

Something deep inside him finally let go.

At the end of the session, his face looked completely different.

He simply said,
“It feels as though an enormous weight has disappeared.”

Then something else became clear.
He realised that this same pattern had quietly shaped his entire adult life.
He had naturally chosen a profession centred on caring for others.

In his relationships, he often found himself trying to rescue people instead of simply loving them.
He had spent his life carrying burdens that had never truly belonged to him.

A little later, we completed the work with EFT.
One sentence became particularly important:
“Even though I couldn’t save my father… I forgive myself completely.”

When he came back for his next session, he told me it had been like night and day. Everything had begun to change.

He felt lighter. Freer.
His relationships were already becoming different.

Sometimes we can spend years understanding our story.
But understanding is not always enough.

Some patterns were created before we had the words to explain them.
They were written into the body, into the nervous system, into the unconscious loyalty of a child who believed he had to keep everyone safe.

When that old loyalty is finally released…
Life can begin to flow again, bringing its fresh and living energy back into the present.

What if you carry the role of others?

Perhaps some of the life’s tasks you carry are not yours.
And perhaps your own role has been replaced by the other person role?

I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey to discover it.
I offer in-person sessions in West Cork, Ireland, and online sessions worldwide.
