fighting the past

The Day She Stopped Fighting What Was

fighting the past

The Day She Stopped Fighting What Was

A client once told me:

“If I accept this, it means I’ve given up.”

It is something I hear surprisingly often. Many of us confuse acceptance with resignation.

Yet they are not the same.

We keep fighting…

For years, we may fight against reality.
We fight the loss of someone we love.
We fight a diagnosis.
We fight the end of a relationship.
We fight who another person is.

Often we even fight our own emotions, wishing they would disappear because they are too painful, too inconvenient, or simply too overwhelming.

This struggle is deeply human.

At certain moments in life, it may even be necessary. It can be part of the process of adapting to a profound change.

But there often comes a point when all the energy invested in resisting what already exists leaves very little energy for living.
Again and again, I witness something similar during my sessions.

Real change rarely begins when people push harder against reality.
It often begins when they soften their resistance.

Not because the situation suddenly becomes fair.
Not because the pain magically disappears.

But because they stop spending every ounce of their energy arguing with what already is.

That shift creates space.
And within that space, something unexpected can emerge.

A sense of peace.
Greater clarity.
The ability to make new choices.
Fresh energy.
Movement.

Acceptance does not mean saying:

“This is what I wanted.”

It does not mean approving of what happened.
It does not mean pretending that something painful is acceptable.

Acceptance simply says:

“This is what it is.”

Only when we acknowledge reality can we begin to respond to it consciously.
Otherwise, much of our energy remains trapped in wishing reality were different.

In my work, I often see that when people stop fighting reality itself, they regain access to their inner resources.

Their body relaxes.
Their nervous system settles.
Their intuition becomes easier to hear.

And from there, change becomes possible—not because life has become easier, but because their energy is no longer consumed by resistance.

Sometimes the greatest act of courage is not to fight harder.

Sometimes it is to gently stop fighting what cannot be changed, so that we finally have the strength to transform what can.

Burden of the ancestors - When we carry a burden that is not ours

When We Carry a Burden That Is No Longer Ours

Burden of the ancestors - When we carry a burden that is not ours

When We Carry a Burden That Is No Longer Ours

There are moments in life that quietly divide our story into a before and an after.

A separation.
Burnout.
The loss of someone we love.
A move.
Or simply the day we realise:

“I can’t keep living this way anymore.”

These moments often become an invitation to look deeper.

Because while the event itself may seem to be the problem, it often reveals a pattern that has been repeating for years.

One of my clients came to see me because he felt constantly overwhelmed.

He was deeply committed to the people around him. His work consisted of supporting others every day, and he did it with generosity and dedication.

But there was always another person to help.
Another problem to solve.
Another responsibility to carry.

Little by little, he realised he had almost disappeared from his own life.

As we worked together over several sessions, another layer gradually emerged.

His great-great-grandfather had lived through the Great Famine in Ireland.

With eight children to feed, survival depended on carrying an impossible weight every single day. Protecting his family was not a choice; it was the only way to keep them alive.

Generations later, my client was still living with that same unconscious sense of responsibility.

Not because anyone had asked him to.

Not because he consciously remembered this family story.

But because, in some way, his whole system had learned that love meant carrying others.

This is something I occasionally observe in my practice.

Sometimes we remain loyal to people who came before us without even knowing it.

A family history of survival may become an unconscious obligation to rescue everyone.
A history of loss may become a fear of letting go.
A history of silence may become difficulty expressing our needs.

These loyalties are rarely visible.

Yet they can quietly shape the choices we make, the relationships we build, and the roles we take on throughout our lives.
As this old burden began to release, another question naturally appeared:

“What do I truly want for myself?”

His answer came without hesitation.

More time.
More inner space.
And the freedom to reconnect with the artistic part of himself that had been waiting quietly for years.

About a year later, he came back to see me.

This time, he wasn’t seeking help because he was exhausted.
He wanted support to prepare his first exhibition of paintings and to feel confident sharing his work with others.

The man who had spent so much of his life carrying everyone else was finally making room for himself.

I often find that healing does not erase our family history.
It allows us to honour it without continuing to live it.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer those who came before us is not to repeat their burden, but to allow their story to end with them.

What if you carry the burden of the ancestors?

Perhaps some of the weight you carry was never meant to be yours.
And perhaps your own life has been patiently waiting underneath it.

I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey to discover it.
I offer in-person sessions in West Cork, Ireland, and online sessions worldwide.

deeper wound to heal

When the Person in Front of You Is Not the Real Wound

deeper wound to heal

When the Person in Front of You Is Not the Real Wound

The first time she walked through my door, I noticed a beautiful young woman with an elegant presence. She looked confident, grounded… almost impossible to imagine that she was struggling with self-confidence.

Yet the very first words she spoke were:

“I have no confidence in myself.”

Then she told me about her work.

Her manager seemed to be constantly watching her, criticising her and questioning everything she did. Every day felt like walking on eggshells. She came home exhausted, but leaving her job wasn’t an option. She needed it.

As we worked together over the next few sessions, it slowly became clear that her manager wasn’t the beginning of the story.

The deeper wound belonged to another relationship.

Her mother.

Little by little, we explored the emotional memories she was still carrying. She began to understand where her mother’s behaviour had come from and how those experiences had shaped her own way of relating to authority, criticism and rejection.

Understanding did not erase the past.
It gave her freedom from it.

Something gentle began to shift inside her.

She no longer felt the need to defend herself all the time. She found herself speaking more naturally, setting healthier boundaries and feeling calmer in situations that had once overwhelmed her.

Then life started opening other doors.

She made new friends. She met someone. Joy quietly returned to places where loneliness had settled for years.

One day she came back with a smile.

“I think I don’t need any more sessions.”

Her manager had just been transferred.

Was it a coincidence?

Perhaps.

Or perhaps, once the deeper wound had begun to heal, this relationship had completed its purpose.

After more than twenty-five years of practice, I have witnessed this kind of transformation many times.

We often believe that another person is the source of our suffering. Sometimes they are.

But sometimes they simply awaken a much older pain that has been waiting, patiently, to be seen.

When that hidden wound begins to heal, the world around us often changes in unexpected ways.

Not because the whole world has changed…

…but because we are no longer meeting it from the same place.

And sometimes, that changes everything.

Sometimes the real wounds are not what we think.

Intuitive kinesiology can reveal real source of suffering.

I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey to discover it.
I offer in-person sessions in West Cork, Ireland, and online sessions worldwide.

Simple & Powerful Path to Healing

When Simplicity Becomes the Most Powerful Path to Healing

There was a time when I believed that the more techniques I used, the more effective a session would be.
Over the years, my clients have taught me something very different.

Sometimes, the deepest healing begins with something surprisingly simple.

Recently, someone came to see me carrying years of emotional tension. Like many people, they had tried many different approaches. They had read, reflected, and worked hard on themselves. Yet something still felt stuck.
As I listened to their body through kinesiology, it became clear that it wasn’t asking for another complex process.
It was asking for one simple intervention.

Nothing spectacular.
Nothing complicated.
Just the right support, at the right moment.

The shift was immediate.
Not because I had “done more”, but because the body finally received exactly what it was ready for.

This is something I have witnessed again and again over the past 25 years.
Our minds often believe that healing has to be difficult to be valuable.
We think that if we struggle enough, analyse enough or spend enough time searching, we will eventually find the answer.

But the body doesn’t work that way.
The body is constantly seeking balance.

When we listen deeply enough, it often shows us the simplest path towards that balance.
Simple does not mean superficial.
Simple does not mean easy.
Simple means appropriate.

It means offering exactly what the nervous system can integrate at that moment, without forcing, overwhelming or rushing the process.

This is why no two sessions are ever the same.
Each person arrives with a unique story.
Each body communicates differently.
And each healing journey unfolds at its own pace.

My role in healing process

My role is not to apply the same protocol to everyone.

  • It is to listen.
  • To observe.
  • To follow what your body is ready to release.

Sometimes that involves emotional work.
Sometimes ancestral patterns.
Sometimes beliefs that no longer serve you.
And sometimes…

The most profound transformation begins with one small step.
One conversation.
One insight.
One gentle correction that allows everything else to reorganise naturally.

After more than twenty-five years of practice, I have learned to trust this simplicity.
Because again and again, it is where I have witnessed the most lasting change.

If you feel that you’ve been trying hard but nothing truly shifts, perhaps your body isn’t asking for more effort.
Perhaps it is asking for the right support.

DO YOU ASK YOURSELF…

  • Why do I still feel stuck after trying many healing methods?
  • How do I know if my body needs rest instead of more effort?
  • What is kinesiology and how can it help me?

I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey.

Changes After an Energy Healing

Healing Session Doesn’t Always End When You Leave

Changes After an Energy Healing

Changes After an Energy Healing

Why Your Healing Session Doesn’t Always End When You Leave

Many people expect healing to happen only during the session itself.
But in my experience, something much deeper often begins once the session has finished.

Whether we work in person or online, I regularly see the same phenomenon: the body continues integrating the work long after the appointment has ended.

Sometimes for a few hours.
Sometimes for several days.
Occasionally, for several weeks.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that “more is happening.” It simply means your system is continuing to process what it has become ready to release.

Every body has its own rhythm :

One of the things I have learned over more than twenty-five years of practice is that healing cannot be forced.
Your body knows the pace that is right for you.

During a session, we don’t try to make change happen.

We simply listen carefully to what your body is ready to address today.
Sometimes that allows us to work deeply for more than an hour.

Other times, after only thirty minutes, muscle testing indicates that the work is complete for that day.

Years ago, I might have continued…
Today, I trust what the body tells us.

Often, those shorter sessions turn out to be the most powerful.

What you may experience afterwards.

Each person is unique, but clients sometimes notice:

  • a deep sense of calm
  • unusual tiredness
  • better sleep
  • vivid dreams
  • emotional release
  • old memories resurfacing
  • greater clarity
  • physical sensations shifting
  • feeling lighter or more grounded…

These experiences are not goals in themselves.
Some people notice many changes.
Others notice almost nothing at first.
Neither response is better than the other.

Healing doesn’t always feel dramatic.
Sometimes the deepest transformations happen quietly.

Why integration matters :

Imagine planting a seed.
You wouldn’t dig it up every day to check whether it is growing.

Healing works in much the same way.

A session opens a process.

Then your nervous system, your body and your emotional world need time to reorganise around this new balance.

This period of integration is an essential part of the work.

Trusting the intelligence of the body :

One of the greatest lessons my clients have taught me is this:
The body carries a wisdom far greater than our desire to control the process.

My role isn’t to force healing.

It is to create a safe space where your body can remember its own capacity to heal, release and rebalance.

Sometimes the most profound work happens after you walk out of the room.
And that is perfectly okay.

A gentle invitation :

If you’ve been feeling stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, or if you sense that your body is trying to tell you something, perhaps it is time to listen differently.

Whether we meet in person in West Cork, Ireland, or online from anywhere in the world, I would be honoured to accompany you on that journey.

When child is expressing something

When child is expressing something that also belongs to you

When child is expressing something

What if your child is expressing something that also belongs to you?

A mother contacted me for a remote session because her two-year-old daughter had suddenly stopped sleeping well. She struggled to fall asleep and would often wake during the night crying.
As the session unfolded, I was guided to ask her mother what had happened about two and a half months earlier.
She paused for a moment and then replied:

“That was when I had a major anxiety attack. I later received support and worked through it. But now that I think about it, that’s also when Lili’s sleep problems began.”

Babies and young children are often incredibly sensitive to what is happening around them, especially to what their parents are going through.
Sometimes they seem to express, in their own way, a tension, worry, or shock that has affected the family. They may also add their own experience and sensitivity to it.

I have observed this often enough throughout my years of practice to invite parents to consider this possibility whenever a sudden change appears in their child.

Sometimes, it can be helpful to simply tell them:
“What happened belongs to me. I am taking care of it. You do not need to carry it or express it for me.”

In this little girl’s case, things settled down very quickly after the session.
Of course, every situation is different.
But when we look beyond the symptom and consider what is happening within the whole family system, some situations suddenly become much easier to understand.

Has this ever happened with your baby or young child?
I would be curious to hear your experience in the comments.

I work with adults, babies and children, both in person and online.

Muriel Laradi holistic healing therapy

No single practitioner can do everything.

No one should have to walk their path alone.

Sometimes, during a session, I realise that my client would benefit from support from another professional as well.

It might be a psychologist, a doctor, a naturopath.
Or another practitioner.

I could pretend that one approach can address everything.
But that would neither be honest nor helpful.

Over more than 25 years of practice, I have learned that some of the deepest transformations happen when different approaches work together.

Each professional brings their own perspective, skills and tools.

My role is not to have all the answers.
My role is to accompany the person sitting in front of me as fully as I can, and sometimes that includes suggesting additional support.

This is not a limitation.
I see it as part of caring well for the person.

No single practitioner can do everything.

And no one should have to walk their path alone.

body reconnect session

When a woman stops being in conflict with her body

body reconnect session

When a woman stops being in conflict with her body

Freeing emotional space so that life can unfold again.

Several years ago, a woman came to see me because she wanted to have a baby.
She had gone through many medical protocols without success and felt exhausted.
From the beginning, I set a clear frame:
We would work on the psycho-emotional level. I could not guarantee any result.

Over five sessions, spaced to allow integration, something shifted — not in the medical protocol, but in her relationship with her body.
Ten years earlier, she had experienced an abortion. A quiet sadness was still present. Her nervous system still carried the imprint of that experience.

Session after session, we worked gently to release what was held — through guided inner work, tapping on energetic points, conscious breathing, and restoring trust in her body.
By the fifth session, the work felt complete. Not because an outcome was promised, but because she was no longer in conflict with herself.

Months later, I received this message:

“My little girl was born at home during the night from Saturday to Sunday. She arrived in a flash and is doing wonderfully.
We are getting to know each other and there is already so much tenderness and love between us.
I thank you with all my heart for your support. I am living in the present moment with her more than ever, and it feels good.”
— Johanna

In 25 years of practice, I have accompanied four women with this request. Three conceived — always alongside medical support.
But what matters most is not the pregnancy.
What matters is this:

When a woman reconnects with her body,
when unresolved emotions are integrated,
when the nervous system settles,
something becomes possible again.

I work in Ballydehob and Bantry.
I am in Bantry on Friday afternoons and currently have three 90-minute session times available.
You may begin with a single session.
or commit to a 3-session pathway for deeper transformation.
Send me a message if you would like to reserve a time.

Where everything has started

Where everything has started

For me, the essence of Life is Love and Joy.

And for you? What is the essence of life? Tell me in the comments.

A baby who comes into the world is already influenced by the emotional environment of their parents, especially their mother, during pregnancy. We are not blank pages.

Life then unfolds through experiences that shape us. At times, when something feels overwhelming, we cope by closing down emotionally. Years later, a new situation — sometimes less intense, but similar — can unexpectedly reactivate those earlier emotions. We may not understand why we react so strongly. But the body remembers what the mind has tried to move past.

Through intuitive kinesiology, we gently trace back to the original imprint. Sometimes there are several layers. Sometimes patterns come from family history or long-held emotional memory. These experiences can affect both the physical body and our overall energy.

My role is to help you bring awareness to what happened, and to meet those parts of yourself with clarity and compassion. When this integration happens, clients often notice physical discomfort easing, and a deeper sense of calm and inner space emerging — sometimes immediately, sometimes progressively.

This work is my passion.
I mainly support sensitive and determined women who truly want to reconcile with themselves.

In 25 years of practice, I have seen that lasting change requires more than one session. This is why I now work in 3- or 6-session pathways — to create real stabilisation and depth.

How Kinesiology Can Help Chronic Discomfort

Listening to the Body in Winter: How Kinesiology Can Help Chronic Discomfort

How Kinesiology Can Help Chronic Discomfort

How Kinesiology Can Help Chronic Discomfort

Listening to the Body in Winter

The body never lies. When it speaks — or even shouts — it is asking to be listened to.
Winter often makes this voice louder. Cold, fatigue and a slower rhythm bring discomfort to the surface, not by accident, but because the body finally has space to express what has been held back.

After the holiday season, many people experience digestive issues, colds or sudden fatigue. These symptoms are often explained by excess food or alcohol, but the body doesn’t only digest what we eat. It also processes the emotional atmosphere we are immersed in. Family gatherings can reactivate old tensions. Alcohol lowers inhibitions, words are spoken that may wound. Sugar overstimulates the nervous system, especially in children, increasing agitation and emotional reactivity. When these experiences are not consciously processed, the body often takes over.

Kinesiology offers a way to listen to these messages. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, it looks at what the body is holding beneath them. Intuitive kinesiology uses muscle testing as a dialogue with the body, allowing access to information stored in the cells and the energetic system. This approach recognises an intelligence of the body that is distinct from the rational mind — one that remembers and responds in its own way.

Winter is a particularly relevant time for this work. As external activity slows, chronic pain and old injuries often resurface. Joint discomfort is especially common during this season. Ankles, knees, hips or shoulders may become more sensitive. Symbolically, joints are linked to movement, direction and adaptability. When movement becomes painful or restricted, it can reflect hesitation, inner conflict, or difficulty adjusting to change.

In one session with me, intuitive kinesiologist based in West Cork, a woman consulted because she felt unable to move forward in her life. Muscle testing revealed tension linked to an old ankle injury. This injury was connected to a period when she had ignored her intuition and followed external expectations instead of her own inner guidance. Once this emotional memory was recognised and integrated, the physical discomfort eased and her ability to make aligned decisions improved.
This illustrates a key principle of kinesiology: the body does not create symptoms without reason. Until an experience is acknowledged and integrated, the body keeps the memory active, often through recurring pain or discomfort. When awareness returns, emotional and energetic healing can occur, and physical relief often follows.

Kinesiology does not replace medical care. It works alongside it, by listening to what the body carries beyond symptoms. During winter, when the body naturally turns inward, this practice can offer valuable support — helping people restore balance, relieve chronic discomfort, and reconnect with themselves.
