Stay the Course

A session can sometimes bring about a real change.

Something releases, a new understanding emerges, an emotion is released. We feel different, lighter, freer, with the sense that something has truly shifted.

And it has.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that our old habits, reactions or ways of thinking disappear overnight. Although it is possible.

We may have spent years functioning in a certain way: adapting, protecting ourselves, staying silent, getting angry, trying to control everything, taking care of others before ourselves…

So even when we have chosen a new direction, we may sometimes find ourselves slipping back into our old ways.

I think of a boat changing course.

The captain knows where they want to go. Yet the wind, the currents or the waves can push the boat off course.
That doesn’t mean they chose the wrong direction.
They look at where they are, notice that they have drifted off course, and adjust their direction.
Then they keep going.

Change can be like that too.

It doesn’t necessarily mean never falling back into an old reaction again.
Maybe it means beginning to recognise it sooner.

“Oh yes… I’m doing that again.”

And this time, instead of judging ourselves or thinking that nothing has changed, we can simply remember the direction we had chosen.

And get back on course, again and again.

At first, we may need to do this often. Then, little by little, this new way of being becomes more familiar. We recognise it more easily. We return to it more quickly.

Until one day, we realise that what once required effort has become much more natural.

Returning to an old pattern doesn’t mean that our inner process of change hasn’t begun.

Change is also about noticing sooner when we have drifted back into an old pattern, and knowing how to find our way back on course.

Kinesiology session with Muriel Laradi

• The soldier didn’t need to disappear

Kinesiology session with Muriel Laradi

The soldier didn’t need to disappear

During a session, the image of a soldier appeared.
A soldier who had learned to fight, to resist, to remain vigilant.

This image echoed something very present in this woman: a way of moving through life always ready to fight, to defend her place, to be seen or recognised.

But that day, it wasn’t about getting rid of the soldier.
Quite the opposite.

He had been useful. He had developed strength, courage, the ability to keep going and move forward.
Perhaps he simply didn’t need to be on duty all the time anymore.

I told her something I often say when this kind of pattern appears:

“You know this posture by heart.”

You know how to fight, resist and stay standing. You have practised it for a long time.
Now, perhaps you can learn another posture.
One of openness, non-doing and gentleness too.

Letting things come instead of going after them. Receiving instead of having to obtain. Not constantly having to defend something.
And this doesn’t mean losing your strength.

If one day you really need the soldier, you will know perfectly well how to wake him up. You already know the way.”

Often, we continue to function in a certain way simply because we know it so well.
It may have protected us or helped us through certain periods of our lives.
But we can also explore another side of ourselves and discover that there is a strength that doesn’t come from fighting.

A quieter strength.

Then another question can arise:

Who am I if I no longer need to fight to be seen, recognised or safe?
And what can I do with all this energy, now that it is no longer being used to fight?

I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey to deeply connect with your inner-self.

Kinesiology session with Muriel Laradi how it works

• How does a session with me work — and what happens afterwards?

Kinesiology session with Muriel Laradi how it works

How does a session with me work — and what happens afterwards?

Today, I would like to clarify a little about the way I work.

Not because every session follows exactly the same process — quite the opposite — but because I think it is important that people who come to see me understand how I work and what they can expect from working with me.

A session usually begins with a conversation.

What feels difficult or uncomfortable today? But also: how could your life be better? What could make a difference and bring you more peace, more joy, or simply put a smile back on your face?

From there, the work can take different directions.

We may look for a theme. I often describe it as the title of the chapter you are in right now: what needs to be looked at today.

We may also work with an intention: the direction you would like to move towards. It is expressed in the present tense and in a positive way: “I am becoming more independent,” “I welcome peace into my life,” “I fully accept my situation”…

Or we simply move forward step by step, following what the muscle testing indicates.

A theme may be worked through in one session, or it may require several. We do not necessarily know this at the beginning.

Then the work itself begins.

I mainly use muscle testing from kinesiology to communicate with the body and guide the session, using different protocols I have learned throughout my years of practice, together with my intuition.

One does not replace the other.

My intuition may suggest a direction, and I then use muscle testing to check whether it is part of the work needed in that session.

In my practice of kinesiology, emotions connected to stress that you are struggling, or no longer able, to manage are at the heart of the work. We explore what may be connected to that stress: one or several memories, beliefs, a relationship, a family or ancestral story, an energetic imbalance, or something very concrete in your present life.

At the end of the session, I check whether there is anything to do in the hours or days that follow: a practice to continue, something to observe or write down, or a particular reaction that may arise.

When something comes up clearly through muscle testing, I let you know so that you understand what to be aware of and, when necessary, what you can do.

However, I do not systematically contact my clients after a session to ask how they are feeling.

This is a choice.

For me, accompanying someone means walking alongside them. It does not mean pulling them forward or overprotecting them. It means respecting their autonomy, their responsibility and their ability to observe what is happening within themselves.

That does not mean that I never follow up. If there is something particular that I feel requires additional attention, we may agree at the end of the session that I will contact you the following day, a few days later, or at another appropriate time.

And if something unusual, difficult or too intense arises after a session, please contact me.

We can look together at what is happening, whether there is something I can do to help, or whether you simply need some time to talk.

There may also be situations that require the support of another professional, particularly a medical professional. My work does not replace this and, when I identify such a need, I will let you know.

Finally, one session is not always enough.

Sometimes a significant change happens after the first session and the person does not feel the need to come back straight away.

But this is not what I observe most often.

In my practice, I generally find that the work begins to settle and become more stable over several sessions. Often three or four. Sometimes more.

This is neither a rule nor a promise. Everyone comes with their own story, their own pace, and the work they have already done.

For me, one of the most beautiful signs that our work together has borne fruit is when you no longer need me.
I accompany you for part of the journey.
But the journey remains yours.
